I moved from Michigan to Colorado at the end of summer 2015. I've been working graphic design contracts and occasional independent freelance, but now have a position with a design agency in the area. I am still open to freelance and shorter contracts, though!
Design is a form of visual communication, and communication has always fascinated me, which is why I have a bachelor's in Communication and a variety of experience in purposeful graphic design. Print design (especially pamphlets & posters) and creation of branding materials are where I feel most at home, but in recent years my interests have shifted to include web design (see: this site, my art blog's tumblr theme). I am particularly interested in User Experience design, because of how much it resonates with my communication and conceptual engineering sensibilities.
I pride myself on resourcefulness, tidiness, and excellent prioritization. I correspond often and concisely with clients and coworkers to ensure everyone is on the same page during ongoing projects. Adapting suddenly to new positions and processes invigorates me. At a previous position, in the space of a month before a major sales meeting, I prepared the website to launch 11 new products, spanning 3 product lines. It exercised my ability to communicate progress with supervisors and coworkers about an extensive and expedited project. My range of experience coupled with my devotion to doing things well the first time makes me a noteworthy candidate for your employment and freelance needs.
When I'm not working, you can find me keeping up with friends' independent webcomics, facilitating peer support groups for nonbinary individuals like myself, and occasionally guest starring in a tabletop roleplaying game podcast (x, x, x, & x). Feel free to contact me with inquiries or opportunities. Letters of recommendation & reference contacts available.
